Hearing loss is classified into three main categories:

Obstructed Conductive Hearing Loss

If something is preventing sound from travelling form the outer/middle ear to the inner ear it is categorized as conductive hearing loss. An obstruction, including ear wax or liquid, in the ear canal preventing sound from reaching the ear drum can also cause this type of hearing loss. Our state of the art hearing clinics provide many treatments for conductive hearing loss to Dresden residents including: ear wax removal, surgical treatments, and medical treatments.

Sensorineural Hearing Loss Prevalence

Sensorineural hearing loss (or sensorineural deafness) is the most often occurring type of hearing loss. Sounds start to become difficult to hear or unclear with sensorineural hearing loss, as voices in conversation can distort or it sounds like others are mumbling. Sensorineural hearing loss can be triggered by excessive exposure to noise and can also be a part of the natural aging process. Hearing aids are an effective method in treating this type of hearing loss and are available to be selected and installed at our hearing clinics local to the Dresden area.
